    Getting thru!
Want the sun to stay out and get rid of all the dirty snow. My dogs need to spend some time outside.

  5. Christin,
I hope you’re beginning to enjoy your week. I’m getting ready to take the 6-hour drive to Brooklyn and see some family.
My sister with MS lives in Brooklyn she recently moved from Jersey because property taxes are outrageous that’s the reason I moved as well my property taxes was near $13,000 a year. So many people are leaving Jersey because the property taxes are so high.
I never was a blogger so this is a first.

  6. I have reconnected with my sister. No relationship with Barbara. I have tried to remove the toxic people from my life,
My life is better than it has ever been. Looking back I realize that I have survived a type of hell that most people would never understand. I thank God for making me strong enough to withstand it all and still be sane.

    1. Hi, Christin
I’m glad you reconnected with your sister. I drive down sunset once or twice a week going to work and I seen children playing in the front yard and I just can’t help to think what you went through. It’s good to keep toxic people out of your life they only make matters worse.
I was 15 in 1986 living in Dumont just on another Street.
I’m glad you are doing well and you’ll continue to be in my prayers.
      God Bless.

  9. Hi Christin,
My name is Jody and I live in Michigan. I recently heard of your fathers story and I quickly understood your side of things, feelings of detachment and depression. Without going into much detail, I understand the need to remove toxic people from your life and the void that comes with it. You are a amazingly strong person to fight to overcome this. Please do not let anyone make you feel any of this was your fault. If you ever need to chat with someone who understands I am always willing to be a ear :))

  10. Hi Christine, just stumbled on your blog. You are very open and write well. I think as people get older things get better. I feel twice as good now at 40 than I did if that makes any sense. I admit I felt sorry for your father when he passed away years ago, probably because of the way he was raised. I knew a lot of kids who had awful parents and you never forget. Anyway keep writing!

  11. Hi, Christin.
I hope you and your family are doing very well. I still live in Dumont we didn’t attend the same school but I remember seeing you around.
I hope life is treating you fair and always keep your head up and turn apples into applesauce that’s an old saying from my grandma.
God bless and keep in touch.

I have a question. Did anyone suspect things weren’t right with me or my family?

      1. Christin,
Not that i can recall. Other than people calling your father “Big Rich”
Everyone started coming out of the woodwork when your father was arrested with all types of stories of what they believed. You can’t listen to Dogma.
You Keep Your Head Up High and know that you didn’t do nothing wrong to anyone.
I always thought you was a very attractive young lady. Remember turn apples into applesauce and don’t listen to people who talk Dogma.
Let me know if you’d like to exchange cell phone numbers?

        1. Thank you Brian. I appreciate your honesty.
So many people claim to know my family and don’t. Always wondered if people suspected that things just weren’t right with my family.

  12. Christin,
I remember you in the supermarket always wearing shorts and sandals and you always had your hair in pigtails. we said hello a few times but that was the extent of our conversation in part we didn’t attend the same school.
I remember your father used to wear glasses I don’t recall him having a beard at that time either. I hope this ain’t bringing up bad memories I reached out not for that purpose.

I thought the cold weather was gone for a few months. Hmm.
How is everything in your neck of the woods?
Do you miss NJ? Dumont hasn’t changed much over the years it just got more expensive but in all fairness all of New Jersey has gotten very expensive.
I’ve been considering moving to Easton Pennsylvania it’s a straight shot not that bad of a commute to the city.
Reply when you can my friend!

  14. Hey Chris, I hope your summer off to a good start. I recently lost my father on July 3rd to copd. He fought a long hard battle since 2005. It’s rough. But I know he’s in a better place with his friends and family….no more 02 hose needed now. Hope to heat from you soon. Would be appreciated more than you can imagine. Pointers on coping would be nice. Thank you. vhfanjohn@live.com or kissfanjohn@gmail.com
